Panasonic motors use a worm-gear reduction box for high precision and long life. Structure and selection guide for the motor reduction unit.
In the operation of an automatic door, the motor is a critical component — and also one of the most expensive. The overall quality of the automatic door depends to a large extent on it.
The automatic door motors in use today fall into two broad types: brushed DC motors and brushless DC motors. Both run at high speed, so a reduction unit is required. There are two reduction methods: one drives the reduction box by a belt, and the other drives a worm-gear reduction box directly from the motor. From a reliability standpoint, the belt is prone to breakage.
